Mondays.

I love a new beginning…new school year; new year; new month; new week. While not quite a do over, a Monday can set the tone for the entire week for me.

I woke up before five this morning thinking, I need a new tone. The same old, same old is just not working. The definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results/outcome has really stuck with me lately. And, while I am including my eating habits and workout habits in my current insanity, I’ve been taking a deeper look at my relationships, interests, and thought patterns.

I don’t know about y’all, but I have a really negative person living inside my brain. This person is always wearing a frown; grumbles and mumbles…a lot; provides negative feedback constantly; and generally brings me down. It’s time for Susie Downer to move on out. Time for some real-life, kickinthebutt change.

I’ve already taken some steps in the right direction. And, of course, I have A List. Every morning I make a list in my journal on things I want to do that day, that week. I’ll be sharing some of my life-changing new beginnings as I implement them. Starting with today:

1. Back on track with eating and exercising. I have really enjoyed the last four day celebration of the 52nd anniversary of my birth. Not completely-out-of-control enjoyed, but certainly off my feed schedule of late. There has been no juicing, no smoothies, more meat and some actual sweets. Not crazy stuff; I remained aware of what I was consuming and how much, but certainly well out of the eating zone I had established for myself the last few weeks. I only made it to the gym two days last week. Granted, I was sick again, but that lack of workout consistency just won’t do.

2. Shutting down the negative voice. Really, negativity is just a habit and if the negative voice can be a habit, so can the positive voice. Susie Sunshine…you’re up.

What are y’all planning for this first week of February? Give me a shout out in the comments.

Love you guys.
